On the banks of the Vltava, one of Prague’s most recognizable buildings stands out for its Brutalist architecture. Fairmont Golden Prague occupies the former InterContinental, designed in 1974 by architect Karel Filsak and restored with careful attention to its architectural character and many of its original artworks.
Brutalist Design and Luxury Hospitality

Today, the recently renovated five-star hotel on Pařížská Street has 320 rooms, suites and serviced residences, six restaurants and bars, an extensive wellness area and event spaces accommodating up to 530 guests. At the top of the building is Golden Eye, a restaurant and bar overlooking the river and Prague skyline. Its interiors revisit the cosmopolitan glamour of the 1970s with brass, gold accents, dark woods and mirrored surfaces, alongside a bespoke artwork by British studio Rima & McRae. DJ sets and playlists curated for the space set the mood as the evening unfolds.
Golden Eye, Fairmont Golden Prague’s Asian Restaurant with Views of Prague
Nighttime is when Golden Eye truly comes into its own. Southeast Asian cooking and cocktails share the spotlight, with much of the menu designed for the table. In the “Inari” menu, chef Numan Seckin brings together some of the flavors that define the kitchen: hamachi, miso black cod, Kagoshima wagyu, sushi and tartare feature across four- and five-course menus, also available in a vegetarian version. Smaller plates are available for those stopping by for drinks.
Fairmont Golden Prague’s Asia-Inspired Cocktail Menu

Behind the bar, Asia becomes a looser source of inspiration. Bars & Beverage Manager Jiří Vošahlík has built the cocktail list around rituals, customs and subcultures rather than following a straightforward journey across the continent. Tea provides the starting point for “Pause & Sip”, combining gin, genmaicha cordial and matcha. Japan’s bōsōzoku motorcycle subculture and its late-night rides inspire “Kamikaze Midnight Run”, made with bourbon, vermouth, anise and blueberry-yogurt foam.
