Hotel bars are evolving, but few openings feel as bold as this one. Tres Monos, the Buenos Aires cocktail bar celebrated for its irreverent energy and world-class drinks, has arrived in Miami’s Brickell district with a concept that challenges traditional luxury hospitality. The newly opened Tres Monos Hotel Bar, inside Dua Miami, sets out to prove that refined service and rock-and-roll attitude can coexist behind the same bar.
The formula is familiar to anyone who has visited the original venue in Argentina: cocktails served in an atmosphere that feels more like a house party than a grand hotel. Forget hushed conversations and polished formality. Here, bartenders pour shots, exchange high-fives and invite guests to become part of the evening.
From Buenos Aires to Miami

For founders Sebastián Atienza, Charly Aguinsky and Gustavo Vocke, the Miami opening marks a defining moment. When Tres Monos first opened in Palermo Soho in June 2019, it deliberately broke with the polished aesthetic that characterised much of Argentina’s cocktail scene. Instead, the bar embraced loud rock music, neon lights, graffiti-covered walls and an unapologetically playful spirit.
The drinks, however, were always executed with technical precision. International recognition quickly followed. Tres Monos entered The World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2021 at No. 33 before climbing steadily to No. 10 in 2025, earning the Art of Hospitality Award along the way in 2023.

Opening Tres Monos Hotel Bar represents the next chapter in that story. The timing is significant, arriving as hotel bars increasingly establish themselves as places of experimentation rather than simply extensions of luxury hotels. The launch also coincides with the opening of 1986 Steak House, the restaurant at Dua Miami whose cocktail programme is also overseen by the Tres Monos team.
For any bar, entering the American market carries particular weight. The United States remains one of the most influential forces in modern cocktail culture, making Miami a natural stage for Tres Monos’ first permanent project outside Argentina. Bringing its rebellious identity into a five-star property such as Dua Miami, Autograph Collection only makes the contrast more compelling.
Buena Onda: Hospitality Without Formality

At the heart of Tres Monos is the Argentine expression buena onda. More than a phrase, it describes an approach to hospitality rooted in warmth, optimism and genuine human connection. Behind the bar, that means treating guests with spontaneity rather than ceremony, encouraging conversation instead of distance and creating an atmosphere that feels relaxed without ever compromising professionalism. The soundtrack remains unmistakably rock-and-roll, and so does the energy.

Atmosphere alone is never enough. To succeed inside a luxury hotel, the drinks must carry equal weight. For Miami, the team has developed an entirely new cocktail programme tailored specifically to Dua Miami and its international clientele.
The ambition is clear: to create a destination that appeals equally to hotel guests, Miami locals and travellers staying elsewhere in the city — without sacrificing the personality that made Tres Monos one of the world’s most celebrated cocktail bars.
