When a product becomes deeply embedded in everyday consumption, the brand name itself can turn into its defining label. Tassoni, one of Italy’s most enduring and beloved historic brands, has for generations been synonymous with Cedrata, firmly woven into both Italian habits and everyday language. In the glass, its vivid yellow hue gives way to a citrus aroma that arrives before the first sip, driven by Diamante citron from Calabria, widely considered the finest in the world.
This particular variety is grown in Santa Maria del Cedro, in the province of Cosenza, and selected for the aromatic intensity of fruit harvested by hand between October and November, while the peel is still green and rich in essential oils.
From Traditional Craftsmanship to the Signature Bottle
That is where the flavour profile of Cedrata Tassoni begins, crafted through a quality- driven production chain that moves from fruit selection and peeling through distillation and bottling. No less important is the glass itself.
With a textured surface that echoes the skin of the citron, the signature bottle makes the product instantly recognisable, whether on a retail shelf or behind the bar. It is a design choice that reinforces the brand’s unmistakable visual identity, one that extends from the classic recipe to Cedrata Zero Tassoni.
Cedrata Zero Tassoni and the Sugar-Free Recipe
The Zero version keeps Diamante citron at the centre of the formula, translating its aromatic profile into a sugar-free, calorie-free expression. Its colour remains unmistakably Tassoni, the natural yellow derived from safflower, while the structure of its signature flavour is built through a careful balance of acidity and aromatic lift.
The formula relies on only a handful of additional elements, including water, lemon juice, citric acid, carbon dioxide. Sweetness, meanwhile, comes from an alternative sweetening system that excludes aspartame. It is the result of long-term development, with a clear objective: preserving the genuine taste of the original drinking experience.
